Capitals coach Bruce Boudrea told Katie Carrera of the Washington Post that defenseman Mike Green would be ready to go for game one against the New York Rangers on Wednesday. Green has been out for 20 straight games after going down with a concussion on February 25 against the Rangers.

Carrera reports that Green participated fully in the Capitals first playoff contact practice on Monday. “I feel good on the ice and I’m ready to go,” Green said.

The Capitals seemed to jump the gun on Green last week, when Boudreau and Green told the media that the 25 year old would be ready for the regular season finale versus the Panthers. Green ended up not traveling with the team for the trip in order to keep him healthy for post season play.
