Bryant McKinnie tweeted today that he’s done in Baltimore. “Decision is made! I’m gone!” McKinnie tweeted. Then, as Deadspin points out, the Baltimore Ravens official Twitter account ignited the fire by retweeting McKinnie’s comments.

Here’s what’s going down. According to Aaron Wilson of The Baltimore Sun, “the Ravens are attempting to restructure Bryant McKinnie’s contract” and the “situation could lead to his release.” McKinnie is due $3.2 million this season, but isn’t willing to accept a 50 percent pay cut.

Wilson says the Ravens and McKinnie are continuing to work on a new deal, potentially one that is more incentives based. Cutting McKinnie would free up $2.2 million in salary cap space and leave a nice gaping hole on the offensive line.

Update: Turns out the Twitter strategy worked. McKinnie and the Ravens have agreed on a new deal.
