One month in the books and the Orioles are 16-11 and hanging around the top of the division.
Playing really well on their first West Coast trip of 2013. They’re doing fine, so its time once again to check back in on the future reinforcements.

Jonathon Schoop – .222/.315/.321, 5 doubles, HR, 10 RBI, SB, 81 AB – Schoop started the season ice cold but is hitting .324 over his last 10 games. He might be farther away from the majors than we’d like but its nice to see some adjustments being made.
3B Danny Valencia – .319/.356/.511, 9 doubles, 3 HR, 15 RBI, 94 AB
CF Jason Pridie – .297/.343/.549, 10 doubles, 2 triples, 3 HR, 14 RBI, 91 AB
3B Russ Canzler – .284/.402/.534, 5 doubles, triple, 5 HR, 21 RBI, 88 AB – All these guys hitting the ball well doesn’t mean much for now as theres not much need for them in Baltimore but it sets them up for a call up in case of injury. Depth is good.
LF L.J. Hoes – .282/.361/.388, 6 doubles, HR, 17 RBI, SB, 85 AB – Still getting on base, still no power.
3B Yamaico Navarro – .276/.359/.434, 4 doubles, triple, 2 HR, 12 RBI, 3 SB, 76 AB

RHP Freddy Garcia – 4-0, 2.67 ERA, 33.2 IP, 21 K, 2 BB – Garcia extended his opt out clause another 14 days. It looks like he could get the call for Saturday’s start for the Orioles. Josh Stinson and Zach Britton each made one spot start for the O’s with not very good results.
RHP Jair Jurrjens – 2-1, 2.64 ERA, 30.2 IP, 20 K, 13 BB – Probably next in line after Garcia.
RHP Jairo Asencio – 0-0, 0.82 ERA, 11 IP, 8 SV, 13 K, 0 BB – Dominant as the Tide closer
RHP Alex Burnett – 1-0, 0.00 ERA, 9.2 IP, 7 K, BB – Acquired from Minnesota and doing well. Pitched to a 3.52 ERA over 71.2 innings for the Twins last year.

1B Caleb Joseph – .310/.359/.607, 10 doubles, 5 HR, 22 RBI, 84 AB – Joseph is on fire. I’m not sure if its sustainable, hes never hit this well before especially the power, but I’m sure hes catching some eyes in the organization.
OF Buck Britton – .304/.350/.446, 7 doubles, 2 HR, 20 RBI, 2 SB, 92 AB
OF Henry Urrutia – .286/.375/.543, 3 doubles, 2 HR, 7 RBI, 35 AB – The Cuban defector finally makes his debut after being signed late last season and looks good out of the gate. Not much adjustment needed after a long layoff.
LF Xavier Avery – .277/.371/.396, 7 doubles, triple, HR, 8 RBI, 4 SB, 101 AB
3B Tyler Kelly – .242/.363/.341, 4 doubles, triple, HR, 17 RBI, 91 AB – Kelly came out hitting very well but has cooled off significantly, hitting .233 over the last 10 games.
RHP Kevin Gausman – 1-3, 3.77 ERA, 28.2 IP, 29 K, BB – That strikeout to walk ratio is outstanding. Get excited, we’ll be seeing him in Baltimore sometime this year.
RHP Mike Wright – 2-0, 5.40 ERA, 23.1 IP, 19 K, 11 BB
RHP Eddie Gamboa – 0-2, 4.30 ERA, 29.1 IP, 22 K, 8 BB
LHP Jacob Pettit – 1-0, 4.18 ERA, 28 IP, 19 K, 12 BB
RHP Devin Jones – 0-1, 5.17 ERA, 15.2 IP, 8 K, 6 BB – Still adjusting to the next level.
LHP Jason Gurka – 1-1, 2.08 ERA, 13 IP, 14 K, 5 BB
A+ Frederick
1B Nick Delmonico – .325/.471/.600, 5 doubles, 2 HR, 9 RBI, 40 AB – Hasn’t played since April 18th due to injury.
SS Sammie Starr – .316/.415/.468, 6 doubles, 2 HR, 17 RBI, 3 SB, 79 AB – Not much star power right now on the Keys offense due to injuries and under performance.
LF Steve Bumbry – .271/.375/.458, 3 doubles, 2 HR, 10 RBI, 2 SB, 48 AB
C Zane Chavez – .286/.378/.397, 4 doubles, HR, 7 RBI, 63 AB
LHP Tim Berry – 2-1, 3.21 ERA, 28 IP, 35 K, 4 BB – Berry has come alive this year with much better command than hes ever had. Splendid K/BB ratio.
RHP Zach Davies – 1-2, 4.23 ERA, 27.2 IP, 21 K, 6 BB
RHP Tyler Wilson – 0-1, 5.19 ERA, 26 IP, 16 K, 15 BB
LHP Eduardo Rodriguez – 1-2, 4.70 ERA, 23 IP, 22 K, 8 BB – I’d like to see better numbers from Rodriguez but its still early.
RHP Matt Bischoff – 1-0, 1.20 ERA, 15 IP, 22 K, BB – The bullpen has been very strong for Frederick.
LHP Zach Fowler – 2-1, 1.29 ERA, 14 IP, 13 K, 2 BB
LHP Trent Howard – 0-0, 0.77 ERA, 11.2 IP, 14 K, 5 BB
A Delmarva
1B Christian Walker – .360/.440/.512, 4 doubles, 3 HR, 16 RBI, 86 AB – Nothing too exciting at Delmarva but Walker continues to hit.
C Wynston Sawyer – .351/.415/.474, 5 doubles, triple, 5 RBI, SB, 57 AB
SS Joel Hutter – .344/.390/.444, 5 doubles, 2 triples, 11 RBI, 90 AB
2B Creede Simpson – .338/.398/.541, 3 doubles, 4 HR, 20 RBI, 2 SB, 74 AB
SS Adrian Marin – .214/.260/.271, 2 doubles, triple, 10 RBI, 3 SB, 70 AB – Marin has collapsed, hitting .105 over his last 10 games.
LHP Josh Hader – 1-1, 1.74 ERA, 20.2 IP, 16 K, 11 BB
RHP Parker Bridwell – 2-2, 5.11 ERA, 24.2 IP, 27 K, 9 BB – Two bad starts in a row have hurt his numbers but the strikeouts are nice.
LHP Matt Taylor – 1-1, 1.62 ERA, 16.2 IP, 19 K, 12 BB
RHP Miguel Chalas – 0-0, 1.65 ERA, 16.1 IP, 18 K, 6 BB
RHP Matt Hobgood – 2-0, 1.42 ERA, 12.2 IP, 8 K, 8 BB – With that K/BB I don’t think these numbers can be sustained.
