While the Ravens have lost Cory Redding, Tom Zbikowski, Jarrett Johnson, Haruki Nakamura and Ben Grubbs this offseason, their biggest signing has been center Matt Birk.
On Tuesday the Ravens hosted free agent defensive end Mark Anderson before he signed with the Buffalo Bills. Anderson spent 2011 with the New England Patriots and racked up 12 1/2 sacks in 19 games. The 28-year-old pass rusher appeared to be a good fit to replace Redding and support Terrell Suggs in putting pressure on opposing quarterbacks.
For whatever reason, the Ravens let Anderson leave the Castle without a contract and he signed a deal with Buffalo. Tony Lombardi of Ravens24x7.com wondered if Ozzie Newsome low balled Anderson.
It certainly would seem that way. Why doesn’t anyone want to come to Baltimore?
I think they offered to low and lost a good player. What happen with Gin ( 49ners ).
Oh well, at least they still have Kindle to provide pass rush.
They probably low balled him to pay Ray Rice the market rate…
The Ravens are cap strapped big time.
Any offer they throw out will be a “low ball” offer.
Ozzie at work,,,,,,,,,missed the boat again,,,,,,,,,he has cap-strapped this team big time , acquisitions like Foxworth , Evans and others , strap this team for years……….but let’s give ozzie another free pass , wonder why ?
Decent players don’t want to play for Harbaugh and they want fair money , unless your name is Foxworth , you won’t get it.
Good point.
