The Baltimore Sun is reporting that outfielder Felix Pie will rejoin the Orioles on Tuesday for game two in Detroit. You may remember that Pie went down after just eight games into April with a back injury. He rejoins the club after a rehab stint in AA Bowie.

The big question facing the Orioles when Pie rejoins the O’s line up is what to do with Corey Patterson. He was picked off to fill in as a lead off hitter and play left field and has well exceeded expectations for the club during his 43 games.

Patterson has batted .292, with 8 doubles and 13 home runs for the O’s. Though his arm has earned his some criticism, his speed allows he to cover left field very well. Juan Samuel told The Sun that Patterson will allow him the freedom to give Adam Jones and Nick Markakis days off once Felix Pie comes back, but my question is has Patterson earned that job over Pie?
