“Triple” and “Matt Wieters” are generally words that don’t go together in the same sentence.
But they did on Sunday against the Cleveland Indians.
Wieters laced a hard hit fly ball off the wall right field, Brandon Moss misplayed the bounce and when Wieters slowed down at second base, casually fielding the ball. Then Wieters turned on the jets and cruised in to third base with his first triple of 2015.
Welcome back, Wiets.
Before someone yells at me in the comments, I feel like I should point out that Wieters first career hit was a triple. Baseball is weird.
“Turned on the jets.”
Seriously, what a great return from Matt Wieters. Hopefully, he can keep it going, and give the Orioles’ offense the shot in the arm they’ve been lacking!
