Two nights ago the O’s came back in dramatic fashion with their 9th come back of the season. With the win Baltimore has won all four interleague series.

Yesterday they sent their ace Jeremy Guthrie (4-7, 5.42 ERA) to the mound to get their second sweep of the season and first ever against the Philadelphia Phillies. Guthrie hasn’t recorded a win since May 25. He faced the Phils’ Cole Hammels (4-2, 4.48 ERA).

Despite their Sunday woes, the Birds have looked great as of late. The took their team average of .336 over the past 8 games into today’s match up and had homered in their past 7 straight games.

In the 6th inning the O’s tied the game at one when Brian Roberts hit a deep double to left and then stole 3rd. He was driven in by an Adam Jones single.

Baltimore took a 2-1 lead in the 8th when Brian Roberts drove in Robert Andino from third. Andino double and then was moved over by the pinch hitting Oscar Salazar. Brian Roberts has 12 RBIs in his last 11 games.

Two runs was all it took with Jeremy Guthrie dealing on the mound. The Ace pitched 7 strong innings surrendering only 1 run and 3 hits. Guthrie gave up a solo homerun to Greg Dobbs in the 2nd and then focused in to shut down the world champs.
