Brian Roberts has missed over a year with multiple concussions, but he’s expected to return to the Orioles lineup tonight to face the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Weather permitting.

Welcome back B-Rob.

Now at age 34, Roberts’ abilities are very unknown.  He rehabbed at three of the Orioles affiliates and appeared in 14 games between Delmarva, Bowie and Norfolk.  Roberts went 10-for-42 in those games, recorded 5 doubles, a home run and 4 RBI.

“He played defense behind me again (Sunday) and he made some good plays,” Zach Britton told MASNSports.com’s Roch Kubatko.  “He played defense behind me again (Sunday) and he made some good plays.”

While Roberts return is fantastic news for the sports world in this day-in-age of concussion injuries, he will likely replace fan favorite Robert “Bob” Andino.  Bob was the hero of the 2011 season and became an every day player in Roberts absence.
