We just got confirmation via Roch Kubatko that Orioles shortstop J.J. Hardy will be extended by the Orioles later today.

Terms were not available at the time of this post, but expect it to be around three years and in the $40 million dollar range.

Hardy, who just turned 32 on August 19th, hit .268 with 9 HRs and 52 RBI, while playing shortstop at his normal Gold Glove-level (13 errors).

He was hampered by back issues this year, but has been outstanding so far in the postseason, hitting .300 with 2 runs scored, all while committing no errors.
