Jim Caldwell made his play calling debut in one of the Baltimore Ravens‘ ugliest losses in recent history. Somewhere Cam Cameron is still laughing about how the Ravens offensive performed after his dismissal.
Joe Flacco played one of the ugliest games of his career, Ray Rice touched the ball just 12 times and Baltimore scored just three points to Denver’s 31 over the first three quarters of play.
Sam Njoku of the Examiner and CBS Baltimore asked head coach John Harbaugh what he thought of Jim Caldwell’s first game as the Ravens offensive coordinator. Njoku tweets that Harbaugh “said he wouldn’t get into assessments.”
I’m sure he’d rather throw around some meaningless sayings instead.
He was on the phone constantly. I think he was trying to Reach Manning to see what play he should run.
Harbaugh doesn’t know enough to evaluate any one at this level , except on special teams,,,,,,,and there is nothing special about this team………………….
You all know that this is Caldwells first crack at being an offensive coordinator in the NFL. He was never an O-Co in Indianapolis. As for everyone saying he developed Manning. That’s bullshit. Manning was going to be great even if Harbaugh coached him. Caldwell lucked into being the QB coach of the Colts when Manning was there. Manning being great gets Caldwell carte blanche in the coaching department because he happened to be around during that time.
If you look at it, Caldwell, like Harbaugh was given a veteran team that should have qualified for the Super Bowl but in Caldwells 3 years the teams record dropped each year. Like what is happening with Harbaugh, once the previous coaches players left, then Caldwell was exposed as a Head Coach fraud.
Damn, it was one game. We clammored for Cameron to be fired. The right interim choice was Caldwell. If he can’t do the job, then we move on but damn, give him a break, it was one game…with Flacco as QB!
