When the Orioles traveled to New York to be swept by the Yankees the Orioles’ broadcasters reported that the Mets might be interested in trading for Aubrey Huff.

Huff-Daddy has told reporters that he wants to stay in Baltimore, he left Tampa Bay when they were rebuilding and he feels that the O’s are on a similar path to success.

Despite Aubrey’s “horse shit” comment about Baltimore on Bubba the Love Sponge, he’s rallied back and become a fan favorite in Charm City.

Last season he was the most valuable Oriole, he hit .304 with 32 homeruns, including a killer July when Huff hit .386.

In 2009, the O’s released Kevin Millar and Huff became the O’s everyday first baseman. He’s the clean up hitter and has 7 homers on the young season. Huff solidifies a dangerous top 4 in Baltimore lineup.

His personality is also a favorite among those around town. Huff isn’t the most chizzled athlete, he’ll admit it, but he shows fire and passion on the diamond. Aubrey gave Joba Chamerlain 3 fist pumps after hitting a homerun off of him on May 10th and I love the passion.

Aubrey is 32 and could be a perfect centerpiece for the future winning teams of Baltimore. That’s what I’m rooting for at least.
