In his last 26 games, Norfolk’s L.J. Hoes is batting .408 with 13 multi-hit games. Since June 18, Hoes has the 8th highest batting average among full season since players in Triple-A.
So is it time to call up the 22-year-old and give him a crack at the big leagues?
With as many roster moves as the Orioles have made this season, I’m surprised he hasn’t gotten the nod already. I’ve heard that the Orioles are working on developing Hoes defense in left field, but then again they have a first baseman playing corner outfield in the big leagues.
O’s fans have experienced the excitement and splash of Hoes’ teammate Xavier Avery in the big leagues this summer. Hoes brings the same speed, with a bit more pop from his bat.
Personally, I can’t wait to see him in an Orioles uniform. Hopefully it happens sooner rather than later.
Hat tip to MASNSports.com’s Steve Melewski for the above stats.
Let’s get him up here!
Need to inject some sense of life in the batting order. Batting .229 on the road is the worst in the big leagues. On the other hand, the fact they can’t hit and they lead the league in errors and are still in the playoff hunt, love the tenacity. Go O’s!
I Heart Hoes.
The O’s do not like to bring young exciting players to the bigs , unless you are a pitcher,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I wish they would break that mold and see if a few of these guys can add a new dimension to the team , I believe they are dead last in team speed and stolen bases , Hoes and Avery can change that real fast,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,do something , make a move or something , darn it , do something as this team is growing stale as we watch it………………..
