Luke Scott Calls Red Sox Fans “Ruthless,” “Vulgar,” Trouble Makers

Two days and two Luke Scott headlines.  That’s a record here on BSR.

And the guy doesn’t even play in Baltimore anymore.

It’s tough to dislike Scott after his comments about Red Sox fans on Wednesday.  ” The fans come in and they take over the city,” Scott told Bill Chastain of MLB.com. ” They’re ruthless. They’re vulgar. They cause trouble.”

I’ve been in the bleachers… I hear you Luke.

“They talk about your family. Swear at you. Who likes that? When people do that, it just gives you more incentive to beat them. Then when things like [the last game of last season] happen, you celebrate even more. You go to St. Louis–classiest fans in the game. You do well, there’s no vulgarity. You know what? You don’t wish them bad.”

As we learned yesterday, unless you’re a criminal or a communist, Luke Scott doesn’t have a problem with you.

You don’t have to be a criminal or a communist, you just have to be someone who happens to lean to the left in your views or perhaps even support the President, who good old Luke has a major problem with. You overly simplified his views by saying “…unlesss you’re a criminal or a communist…” and that really does him a big PR favor. Luke Scott does a good job of keeping a lid on it but he’s more Rush Limbaugh then Joe Scarborough.

      Dave,

The article is a play on what Luke Scott said himself…

“You don’t have to worry about me unless you’re a criminal or a communist,” Scott added.

It’s called tongue in cheek, don’t take it so literal.

Four years in a row of 50+ Extra Base Hits from 2007 – 2010 is Impressive…Watching him dozens of times take BP at OPACY while trying his damnedest to hit the Warehouse instead of working on his ability to use the Opposite Field, not so impressive…Bottom line is that he was the prototypical 21st Century Oriole, which is not exactly a ringing endorsement…Wish him well, all the same!
