If Manny Machado is dealing with an injury, he’s doing a great job of covering it up.
A day after having his 14-game hitting streak and 5-game multi-hit streak come to an end, the young stud went 2-for-5 with a double and made another fantastic play at third on a screaming ground ball down the line. In the bottom of the fourth, the speedy Torii Hunter belted a ball that had double written all over it down the third base line. Machado had different plans.
He made a diving stop and fired to first for out number one.

I’m hopeful that Machado’s compression sleeve, which he wore again on Tuesday, is either to make him look more like a baller or to deal with some minor wear and tear. As noted yesterday, Machado hasn’t missed a game since being called up in August of 2012.
Machado was charged with a throwing error in the bottom of the eighth on a ball he sailed to first baseman Chris Davis. Whatever he’s dealing with, if anything, isn’t affecting his play at the plate or at third enough to keep him out of the lineup.
So what do you think, Zach? Injured arm?
