Manny MachadoAre you worried about a Sophomore slump for Manny Machado? You probably shouldn’t be.

The Baltimore Sun’s Eduardo Encina points out that Machado is 4-for-7 in Grapefruit League action this spring with three walks. That means he’s reached base 7 times in 10 plate appearances.

That’s a .700 on base percentage for you stat heads out there.

Machado batted .262/.294/.445 with 7 homers and 26 RBI in 51 games with the Orioles last season. His glove alone was reason enough for his call up, but the O’s will be depending on his production in the bottom of Buck Showalter‘s lineup this season.

It’s only March, but it sure is good to see Machado having good AB’s this Spring.

  1. I really feel like Manny is going to be a star in this league. The guy came in and hit the ground running and I only see him getting better.

    • Yeah i feel the same way..not too many guys can come out of the gate running like he did. i hope he does the same this year.
