No, not Orioles third baseman Manny Machado, but the Manny Machado that is running for District 11 Commissioner in Miami.
According to the Miami Herald, Machado was in a “heated campaign” for the west Miami-Dade commission seat against Juan C. Zapata. Machado is a Cuban born police detective who moved to Miami when he was five during the Mariel boatlift.
He’s got my vote.
