Baltimore's rally for the OriolesWe’re still getting used to this playoff baseball thing here in Baltimore. Don’t make fun of us, it’s been a while. We’ll figure it out.

Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake held a rally for the Orioles with the citizens of Baltimore this morning in front of city hall. Folks in attendance received hats and bumper stickers as the city unveiled a banner that read “Good Luck Orioles from Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake and the citizens of Baltimore.”

The only problem with the rally was that the Oriole bird was the only representative of the team in attendance. After two home games in the ALDS, the Orioles headed to New York for the remaining two or three games.

So why didn’t the Mayor and the city of Baltimore hold the rally on Sunday or Monday? Wouldn’t it have made more sense to get people in Baltimore excited about the Orioles while they were playing home games?

I don’t know. A lot of people are wondering the same thing.
