Yankees manager Joe Girardi will bat Alex Rodriguez third for tonight’s game three of the American League Division series against the Baltimore Orioles.
A-Rod has been the talk of New York since striking out to end game two on Monday night. He’s 1-for-9, with a walk and five strikeouts in the postseason so far this year.
Jay Jaffe of Sports Illustrated wrote a piece this afternoon on why Girardi should move the the $275 million man down in the lineup as it would better serve the Yankees, but New York’s skipper has been insistent that he has no plans to do so.
Ken Rosenthal jokingly tweeted that Buck Showalter is smiling at Girardi for standing pat and sticking with Rodriguez in the three hole.
