Poor Jeff Pilson thought he would be the last one to talk about Vlad Guerrero in Baltimore. Great article by the Colonel though, check it out.
On Wednesday morning, ESPN’s Buster Olney tweeted that the next 48 hours would be “pivotal” in the Guerrero contract talks. It’s clear the Orioles have their offer out, but that Vladdy wants more.

HardballTalk.com had a great piece on Wednesday called “Give in and take the O’s Offer Vlad. Seriously.” Craig Calcaterra thinks the Orioles should tell Guerrero that their offer goes down by $500,000 every 12 hours hours it is not accepted.
No one seems to think Vlad has any other offers. What’s the hold up?
Always have to get in the last word, eh Zach… It seems obvious the O's and Vlad are playing a game of chicken right now. I don't think the O's are going to blink. Problem is, I am not sure Vlad is motivated enough to play for less money than he wants and for a team that has little shot at the play-offs. It is possible he may just retire, or wait to see if an injury in season creates more demand for his services.
Ironic that the guys from HardballTalk are encouraging the O's to play hardball with the negotiations.
Yeah I'm really worried that someone is going to swoop in a take Vlad. The Orioles seems set on their number, but I would hate to lose out on a guy like Vlad for a difference of a few bucks. Hopefully they can get the deal done.
Seems pretty obvious that Vlad wants no part of being an Oriole.
Hell, he didn't want to be in Orange when 90 million was on the table!
