The Orioles will acquire their new shortstop from Minnesota in the form of J.J. Hardy. Baltimore will send minor league pitchers Brett Jacobson and Jim Hoey to the Twins for Hardy and infielder Brendan Harris.

Having spent much of the week looking for a shortstop, the Orioles have found one: The Twins have agreed to send J.J. Hardy and infielder Brendan Harris to Baltimore in exchange for minor-league pitchers Brett Jacobson and Jim Hoey.

The deal is in place, pending medicals, according to sources, and could be formalized on Thursday.
