In one of the longest nine inning games of the 2009, the Orioles once again came up short in Fenway Park. The O’s fall to 1-8 against the Red Sox.

The two teams combined for 11 runs, 11 walks, and 13 pitchers.

Last night, the birds did battle against the Sox. The game was tied 4-4 through the seventh inning, but Victor Martinez pinch hit bases loaded base hit gave Boston a 7-4 lead.

Danys Baez gave up the three runs to Martinez, though one was charged to Matt Albers. He was one of the six relief pitchers Dave Trembley used in the last 3.2 innings. Albers was charged with the loss.

Jason Berken kept the Orioles close in his 5.1 innings of work. He gave up three earned runs on eight hits, but walked four.

Baltimore is off tonight, but open up a three game series in New York on Friday.
