During the 7th inning of the 7th game between the Orioles and Yankees, the Birds surrendered 7 runs.

What does this mean? Absolutely nothing, but I thought it was kind of interesting.

Brad Bergesen was on the hill for the O’s at the new Yankees’ Stadium. By the way, when are we taking the “new” out from the ballpark’s name. I think they should have to add “new” to the title of the park. I mean, that’s what everyone is calling it anyway.

Bergesen looked great in the big apple, besides giving up a inside fastball to Alex Rodiguez in the 1st inning that ended up being his 5th homer.

BB rebounded though and continued through 6 innings, but got in a little trouble in the 7th. He got the first out, but walked Nick Swisher and Robinson Cano. Bergesen left when the O’s were down 2-1, but was charged with two more when Chris Ray served it up.

The 7th inning sealed the deal for the O’s, 7 runs including another stat padding homerun for Mark Teixeira. Tex was 0 for 2 when he stepped up to the plate with a 7-1 lead and hit his 11th homerun. It was a terrible inning for Baltimore. 2 errors and terrible pitching ended the game through 7.

The O’s only got 3 hits on the night and didn’t take advantage of the few bad pitches by CC Sabathia.
