I guess the Sunday curse is long behind us, the Orioles just lost on every other day of the week.

The O’s have won just two of their last nine games, both wins coming on Sundays.

Yesterday it was David Hernandez on the hill in his best performance of the season. Hernandez gave no free passes to the Red Sox through his seven strong innings of one run baseball.

Hernandez got the win, he’s now 3-2 and lowered his ERA to 3.20.

It’s odd to see a good pitching performance and a strong offensive performance by this club, but they pulled it off against John Smoltz. Baltimore rallied for six runs against the veteran after just five innings.

Nick Markakis drove in three and hit a solo homerun, his twelfth of the year, and Felix Pie, hitting in the two hole, had two hits on the day.

Baltimore won it’s first game against the Red Sox at Fenway this season and the dreaded nine game road trip came to an end after a 2-7 performance.

The O’s come home to face the Kansas City Royals and Red Sox over the next week.
