The Ravens already bad secondary just got a little more badder. Or something…
Cornerback Jimmy Smith will miss the remainder of the season after having surgery on his injured foot. As Jason Butt of BaltimoreBeatdown.com points out, this is a huge blow for Baltimore as Smith seemed to be the only corner in a Ravens uniform that could matchup against an opponent’s top receiver.
With Smith out for the year, Danny Gorrer is expected to step in and be the starter opposite of Lardarius Webb for the short term. When Asa Jackson comes off of the injured reserve-designated to return list, he'll certainly factor into the mix as a potential starter.
