Anlaysis: Hakuri Nakamura is a exciting young safety in his 3rd year with the Ravens. This former 6th round pick uses his speed and agility to make plays. Now most of the plays have been on special teams as he continues to sit behind Dawan Landry on the depth chart. He did a serviceable job replacing the injured Landry and Jim Leonhard at the end of the 2008 season.
2010: As seen in the Ravens preseason game against the Redskins, Nakamura has an important role in the special teams and that special teams coach, Jerry Rossburg, has big plans for him this season. Nakamura seems to be completely healed and back in shape from his season ending injury in 2009. There have not been any significant inroads on challenging Landry for the starting SS. He still should be an automatic roster choice for both his backup role and ST contribution.
Honestly, I hate the stupid phrase "play like a Raven", but knowing what it is intended to mean, you gotta say this kid embodies that cliche.
Every team needs two or three guys like Nakamura who make big plays on the special teams and can come into situations to help the D. They need to hold onto this guy .
