Analysis: The questions surrounding this guy always surround his attitude and effort. Physically, he is quite the specimen. As for talent, it is all there. This guy could be great, but he isn’t.

Even worse, is that he has found his way into the papers and opinion columns way too many times for items such as lackadaisical play, sitting out of practice, and complaining about his role. Then when he suffers a serious injury like the one sustained in New England last season, his desire to return to the field is questioned by everyone. Perception is not a good reality for Jared Gaither. Let’s hope he can change that.

2010 Outlook: The reality is that he probably is still the most talented offensive lineman on the team, yet his inconsistency has forced the coaching staff to move him to the right side. This team, however, still needs Gaither to perform. People are expecting great things from this offense, but we all know that it has to start with the line. The beautiful thing about this is that Gaither has the entire season to fix things. If he goes out and does his job, lays low afterwards, and shows consistent effort, there would be no reason to not make him the man for a very long time.
