Ravens fans are waiting patiently for GM Ozzie Newsome to make that first big move of the offseason.  Well folks, this could be it.  Jamison Hensley of the Baltimore Sun is reporting that the Ravens have shown interest in Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora.

The Ravens want to improve their pass rush. Osi Umenyiora wants a new contract.

Perhaps both could get what they want in a trade.

Umenyiora will reportedly hold out of training camp if the New York Giants don’t upgrade his contract. He is signed through 2012, receiving $3.1 million in 2011 and $3.9 million in 2012.

Hensley does point out that Umenyiora is coming off of offseason hip surgery. However he did record 11 1/2 sacks last season and would fit nicely on a team that had just 27 in 2010.
