Last year Baseball America named Matt Wieters their “Prospect of the Year”. Yesterday they named the top 100 prospects and guess who was number one?

You guessed it, Orioles catcher Matt Wieters. He even beat out Rays’ pitcher David Price who pitched in last years ALCS.

The Orioles have three prospects in the top 25, Wieters (1), Chris Tillman (21), and Brian Matusz (25). Jake Arrieta finished 67th.

Though this number really means nothing, it is nice to see the Birds getting national recogition for their future talents.
