Here at Baltimore Sports Report we are going to keep you updated to how the top Orioles prospects are doing in the farm System.

C  Matt Wieters– Wieters continues to adjust to International League pitching after coming back from his minor injury. The Tides catcher is .260 with 1 homerun and 5 RBI’s. While Matt Wieters offensive numbers may not be what they were last year, he is gaining valuable experience learning the organizations top pitchers and how to call a ballgame. Such experiences that will never show up in a games box score.

OF Nolan Reimold– Reimold continues to pound Triple A pitching. He’s batting .408 with 7 homeruns and 21 RBI’s. Reimold hit his seventh homerun last night in the Tides loss, but the bomb put Nolan second in the league in homers. Since Reimold has gotten off to such a quick start, he has began to accumulate individual awards. Last week he was named the International League Batter of the Week.

SP Chris Tillman– Chris Tillman earned his first victory of the season this past week and now has a 1-0 record . He’s pitched six innings and struck out 6 on his way to his first win. He’s pitched 14 innings total and has a 1.29 ERA. Tillman continues to have Triple A hitters guessing as he leads the team with 15 strikeouts.

1B Brandon Snyder– Snyder continues his fast start against Double A pitching in Bowie.  Snyder, the leagues fourth ranked hitter, is hitting .357 with 2 home runs and 13 RBIs. Snyder continues to add some pop to a Bowie lineup that has been relying on his all season.

SP Jake Arrieta– Arrieta has a record of 2-0 with a 2.00 ERA through 4 appearances. He has pitched a total of 18 innings this year averaging to four and a half a start.  Arrieta has been the work horse for the Baysox early as one of the leaders on the team in innings pitched. One of the Orioles “Big 3”, Arrieta has certainly got off to a good start this season.

SP Troy Patton-Patton has been very effective so far in his first season actually pitching for the Orioles organization. He is the leader with 22.1 innings pitched and an ERA of 1.21. Patton is 2-0 and so far doesn’t seem to have any lingering effects from surgey which kept him from pitching all last season.

Troy Patton

Sp David Hernandez– Hernandez had a tough outing last night, but overall this season he has been very effective. He sits with a 1-1 record and an ERA just above 4. Hernandez is second on the team with 19.2 innings pitched over four games.
