Buck Showalter Is “Very Confident” Manny Machado Will Be Playing “Early Next Season”

Manny Machado injures kneeThis day seemed dreadfully long. I’ve been waiting for news on Manny Machado‘s injury and hoping for the best.

Though official word hasn’t been announced, Buck Showalter told reporters that he feels “very confident that Manny will be playing for us early next season.”

“So far, so good,” Showalter added according to MASNSports.com’s Roch Kubatko.

Dr. Wilckens has yet to confirm the reading of Machado’s MRI, Showalter told the media what he heard from the radiologist. Injury expert Will Carroll, tweeted that Machado could be ready by Opening Day 2014. He expects the injury to be a grade two or three MCL sprain.

Machado is expected to be at Camden Yards later today.

    nice to hear Manny will be back possibly for spring training. he’s going to be a great player and is already a good man.
