Orioles top prospect Dylan Bundy continues to feel discomfort in his right arm. Bundy tried to throw from 90 feet at extended spring training on Tuesday, but was halted due to, what the team is calling, “flexor mass tightness.”
A scary diagnosis indeed. However an MRI revealed no structural damage in Bundy’s elbow and the discomfort he’s experiencing appears to be in the muscle part of his forearm.
Bundy is currently seeking a second opinion from noted surgeon Dr. James Andrews. “I don’t think there’s something definitive on [what caused the injury], the way I understand it,” Buck Showalter told reporters according to MLB.com’s Brittany Ghiroli. “We are more interested in getting it resolved right now.”
Bundy hasn’t thrown from a mound since March and the Orioles will continue to take their time with him. For now, the scary news isn’t season ending, just concerning.

They just need to get the kid right. No hurry. Strausburg had to have Tommy John and he ended up fine.
Be cautious.
No way this kid will be a major factor in the bigs,,,,,,,,,,,way too early for arm problems,,,,,,,,,,trade him now,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
That’s the same thing they said about Jim from Dundalk. He would amount to nothing and look how he turned out…We had a trade for him with the Red Sox for 2 cans of Skoal Bandits, 4 Dover Downs tickets and a Brokeback Mountain bluray dvd….no we stuck with Jim and look how he turned out….a major contributor to the BSR.
