Tommy Hunter’s postgame interviews are awesome. If you’ve never watched one, please do. It’ll put a smile on your face.
Last night the O’s starter threw four perfect innings against the Pittsburgh Pirates. I jokingly turned to my friends after each of the first four and proclaimed from the bleachers that we were going to witness history. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.
“I felt like I was pretty damn good too,” Hunter told reporters after the game.
Hunter threw two more innings after allowing his first hit to Garrett Jones. Three batters later Rod Barajas belted a three-run blast and suddenly the shutout was gone too.
“It sucks that it happened, but it is what it is, we won.”
Hunter finished the night throwing six innings, surrendering seven hits and five earned runs. He said he felt his best all season out there, but this performance is probably more evidence that he could serve the O’s better in relief.
I hope the Orioles don’t give up on Hunter.
I felt pretty damn good too about his performance. One win closer to a free Potbelly lunch…
I’m rooting for you Nails.
I make it a practice never to bet against my team. You find yourself then rooting against them.
