Felix Pie Slammed Into The Centerfield Wall Chasing A Fly Ball On Sunday

Pie hits for the cycle on August 14, 2009 vs Anaheim

Former Orioles outfielder Felix Pie slammed into the centerfield wall while chasing a fly ball during yesterday’s Indians-Rangers spring training game. And I’m a big enough man to not make a joke about it.

Pie was attended to by trainers and left the game after the collision. The Indians tweeted that Pie was “a little dizzy but appeared fine.” Skipper Manny Acta said that Pie passed the initial test, but was clearly shaken up.

Orioles fans that heard this news probably weren’t surprised.  Pie always seemed to struggle on defense and often made up for his mistakes with his incredible speed.

Still he’s one of four guys to ever wear the Orioles uniform that have hit for cycle.  Can you name them?

Brooks Robinson, Cal Ripken, Jr., Aubrey Huff and sweet Felix Pie.

And after he did it, he didn’t even know what a ‘cycle’ was!

Pie is much better than Reimold. Reimold is still making a living off a 3 month stint from 3 years a go. Pie is going to make the team in Cleveland and we are going to rue the day we let him go.
