Among the numerous questions surrounding the Orioles rotation this season is status of Brian Matusz.  The Orioles lefty came up to the big leagues and was immediately crowned as a guy with Rookie of the Year potential in 2010.

2011 was a different story.  Matusz started the season on the disabled list and struggled to regain his velocity.

On Wednesday in Sarasota, Orioles catcher Matt Wieters caught Matusz’s bullpen session and told Brittany Ghiroli that he appears to have returned to form.  “Wieters singled out Brian Matusz’ bullpen session today, said it was more Matusz of old than at anytime last year,” Ghiroli tweets.

That’s good news.  The Orioles could use a lot more like it.
