Every Monday I will be posting random news and notes I can find about the Orioles either from the past week or just in general. This is meant as an entertainment purpose on Monday because it is the most dismal of the days.
  • The Orioles just finished up a stretch of 10 games where they went 8-2. Brian Matusz was suspended for eight of those games, in which the Orioles went 7-1. Nolan Reimold was also called up from Triple-A Norfolk in that time and the O’s have gone 5-1 since calling him up.
  • It took Nolan Reimold four games to hit two home runs while it took Delmon Young 35 games to hit two home runs.
  • Zach Britton: 1.0 WAR; Travis Snider: 0.8 WAR.
  • Chaz Roe and Delmon Young both have 0.6 WAR. Roe has appeared in 10 games; 46 for Young.
  • Oliver Drake, Rey Navarro, Tyler Wilson and Mike Wright all made their MLB debuts this year. All four of these players are older than Manny Machado.
  • Steve Clevenger is older than Brian Matusz.
  • Chaz Roe is only the 2nd Orioles player ever to wear #65. The last player to wear it was Mike Belfiore in 2013.
  • On the flip side, Oliver Drake is surprisingly the 2nd Oriole to ever wear #71; last worn by L.J. Hoes in 2012.
  • Matt Wieters has more triples than David Lough.
  • Jonathan Schoop (9 games) has more home runs than Travis Snider (45 games).
  • Excluding home runs, David Lough (43 games) has zero extra base hits. Nolan Reimold (5 games), excluding home runs, has one extra base hit.
  • Only three Orioles players have played more than 50 games: Chris Davis, Adam Jones and Manny Machado.
  • Manny Machado is the only Orioles player to appear in all 62 games. If Chris Davis wasn’t suspended for Opening Day, he would join Machado in that group.
  • Orioles players that have been intentionally walked this season: Adam Jones, Caleb Joseph, Alejandro De Aza (before being traded), Steve Pearce and Travis Snider.
  • Zach Britton has more wild pitches than Brian Matusz.
