Hill

The Baltimore Orioles filled the last spot in their starting rotation yesterday. 28 year old lefty Rich Hill was acquired form the Cubs. Hill was once one of the Cubs’ top prospects but had control issues last season.

“I’ve seen him with control issues, and I’ve seen him overcome them,” said Orioles president of baseball operations Andy MacPhail. MacPhail worked with the Cubs when they drafted Hill in 2002.

To make room for Hill the Orioles designated Brian Burres for assignment.
