It’s getting hard to watch the Orioles. Granted, their schedule after the All Star break hasn’t been pleasant, but they just can’t seem to put up a “W”.

Tonight, it was Jeremy Guthrie, the last O’s starter to get a win, against the Oriole killer Jon Lester.

The BoSox jumped on Guthrie earlier with four runs after just two innings. David Ortiz started things off with a three run homer in the first, then Jacoby Ellsbury drove in Jason Varitek in the fourth.

Guthrie leads the American League in homeruns surrendered with 23.

Baltimore scored it’s only two runs of the game in the fourth inning. Matt Wieters brought Nolan Reimold home and then on a Cesar Izturis infield single, Ty Wigginton scored. Other than that, Jon Lester was nasty. 7.1 innings, 2 earned runs, 9 K’s.

Lester improved to 9-0 in 11 starts in against the Birds and the Sox have beaten Baltimore 11 straight times in Boston.

The O’s are now 1-16 in AL East road games. They wrap up the series tomorrow afternoon with David Hernandez on the mound against John Smoltz.
