The Orioles kicked off the first 2110 Eutaw Street promotion today and the fans weren’t disappointed in Nick Markakis and Adam Jones. Markakis gave the O’s a 2-0 lead by driving in Brian Roberts in the third. Adam Jones robbed Alex Rios of a homer in the fourth.

The hitting machine that is Oscar Salazar went yard in the sixth to give the birds a 3-0 lead. Salazar was DH’ing today and jacked his second homer of the year off a 1-2 pitch from Marc Rzepczynski.
I love watching Brad Bergesen pitch. The guy is a beast and he gives the team a chance to win every outing. He got into a jam in the seventh inning and allowed two runs to score before being taken out with two outs. Bergy left with the lead and therefore got the win, he’s now 6-3.
B-Rob added an insurance run in the bottom half of the seventh with an RBI single. He drove in two today.
Baltimore then got shutout performances from their set up man, Jim Johnson, and closer, George Sherrill in the seventh and eighth. Johnson gave up one hit and Flat Breezy retired three straight to earn his 20th save.
That wraps up the first half of the season. The Orioles are 40-48. See you on the other side of the break.
