He grew up on Maryland’s eastern shore, graduated from Towson University, and now lives in Central Florida where he roots for his teams from afar. The best sports moment he witnessed live was when he witnessed Delmon Young drive in three on a double down the left field line in game two of the 2012 ALDS.
The players are taped out by the end of the season, its just too much to ask them to maintain that high level of play.
Fact is, I wonder if the league would benefit from an extra bye week and cutting a game out of the regular season.
That won’t happen, less revenue. Hopefuly we will at least be reasonable and let it stand at 16, thats enough of a beating for those guys to endure.
If they want to expand to 16 games, maybe they can cut back on the preseason games. Four, I think is too many, and it makes fans pay regular season prices to see players who may or may not make the team in the first place. Usually by the third exhibition game, the players seem to be ready to start the season.
I totally agree with Cliff. The Ravens weren’t even the same team in the playoffs because of all their injuries and now the NFL wants to add 2 more games. No way.
The preseason sucks, but seeing more stars go down would be even worse. 16 is great.
