I’m still trying to figure this one out. According to the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, Steelers‘ head coach Mike Tomlin picked the Ravens to win the AFC North in the 2009 season.
“You have to like Baltimore,” Tomlin said when asked about his prediction. “They won 11 games last year with a rookie head coach and a rookie quarterback. They have a good football team. They have a great defense, they have a quarterback who proved he’s their quarterback of the future, he’s a guy on the rise. You have to respect that.”
It’s important to note that Tomlin’s pick for last season was the Cleveland Browns. So I’m trying to figure it out. Why did he pick the Ravens for the upcoming season? Is he trying to jinx the Ravens?

It’s a setup. Giving his guys some extra motivation.
Yeah I think he’s kind of being a smart ass to be honest.
He may have been joking, yet he is correct. The Ravens will win the 2009 AFC North. The defense is the best in the NFL and the offense just got better = Championship.
