When one thinks of the NFC East in the National Football League they think of hard nosed smash mouth football. The NFC East in my opinion has been the class of the NFL for quite some time now, but the real question is who the class of the division is? In my honest opinion, I think the Philadelphia Eagles are the best the NFC East has to offer and here are a few reasons why……
The big thing is CONSISTENCY, over the last 10 years the Eagles have been able to capture 5 NFC East Titles as well as play in 5 Conference Championship Games. All of this success would not be possible without Head Coach Andy Reid and Quarterback Donovan McNabb. These two have only experienced 2 losing seasons since coming to the city of brotherly love in the 1999 season. The Eagles are the best team in this division because they are successful without a whole lot of “flash”. With the exception of Terrell Owens coming to town in the 2004 season the Eagles have gotten the job done without any really big name wide receivers ranging from James Thrash to Jason Avant.
We are seeing it again this season with Donovan McNabb relying heavily on his young core of players that being running back Lesean McCoy (21 Years Old), Wide Receivers Jeremy Maclin and Desean Jackson and Tight End Brent Celek The reason this team is so successful is because they know how to draft and keep a fresh young core coming in every year and until other teams start to do the same (The Redskins and Cowboys) then the Eagles will be flying high on the road to victory for many years to come!
