The Washington Capitals worked hard last night, beating the Edmonton Oilers 4-2, but they had their work cut out for them today- they had a photoshoot for their annual Caps Dogs calender. This year, the profits will benefit Homeward Trails, a non-profit organization that helps with pet adoptions in Maryland, DC, and Virginia. All the dogs in these photos are up for adoption courtesy of Homeward Trails except for Michal Neuvirth’s dog and Karl Alzner’s dogs (pictured above).

Rocking the cowboy hat, scarf, and Crocs combo! Nice!
Nicklas Backstrom… wow.
I have a feeling this picture of Braden might end up all over the locker room.
Come on Mikey. It’s a dog, not a smelly baby.
Come on Mike! Act like you like the dog!
See Mike? It wasn’t that hard!
In Mother Russia, dogs walk you! (I’ll see myself out…)
Is it just me, or does Urbom look just like Nicklas Backstrom?
I’m ordering one of these calenders as soon as I can. Speaking of which…
The @washcaps @HomewardTrails dog calendars are scheduled to go on sale Dec. 3. On sale at home games and at http://t.co/igKMspveZc
