I recall an epic Twitter war I got in with some Orioles fans over Zack Greinke right around the 4th of July . I argued that Greinke struggled down the stretch and in the postseason in 2011 for the Brewers and thought that selling the farm for him this year wouldn’t be a good idea for the Dan Duquette and the Baltimore Orioles.
Since no one else is going to, it’s time to pat myself on the back for that one.
On Sunday, Greinke allowed six earned runs in six innings pitched and the LA Angels were swept in four games by the Tampa Bay Rays. Steve Berthiaume of ESPN points out that it was Greinke’s fourth straight start in which he allowed four or more runs, the longest streak of his career.
Can you imagine what it would have cost the Orioles to make that trade? Good thing they didn’t.
i agree. but you have to realize that oriole fans are desperate for a winner. logic is out the window.
