Grant Balfour has all the rage. All of it.
This week, Balfour has his first chance to face the team (or organization, I guess) that he feels spurned him over the winter winter. Balfour agreed to terms to a two-year, $15 million contract with the Orioles in late December, but the deal fell apart after he failed his physical. The veteran closer instead inked a two-year, $12 million deal with the Rays — and apparently he’s pissed about losing that extra $3 mil.
Asked Balfour if he is more motivated facing #Orioles: "I’m not going to let them dictate what I do. . … They know what they did." #Rays

This isn’t the first time Balfour has told reporters that he’s fired up to face Baltimore. Back in January he told 98.7 The Fan in Tampa that he was already feeling the rage.
To be honest, a little bit, when I found out I could get the chance to play Baltimore 19 times, I’m not going to lie, that was intriguing. You know, it’s just one of those things. Nothing against any of the players there or anything, but it got me a little fired up.
Balfour has two more opportunities this series to face the O’s after the Birds took the first game, 7-1.

I’d love to see him come in because all of the games are O’s blowouts, and he needs to get some work in.
I almost feel bad for Balfour. I mean, I’d be mad too if I blew my chance at getting a big contract, but come on, get over it. The way that Balfour reacted honestly made me glad the Orioles didn’t wind up signing him, and he continues to prove me right every time he opens his mouth. I hope an Oriole hits a walk-off homer against him and moonwalks/grapevines/Charleston Shuffles around the bases.
Why don’t you two give up 20% of your income and do it with a smile. The O’s screwed this guy over, pure and simple. He should be upset and want to stick it to the org that stuck it to him.
Ah Anvil…You fit in so well in Baltimore. I’ve been here my whole life, got away, saw the light. You’ve been here half a dozen years and are poisoned just like the rest. I’ll pray for you.
If he Ben Dover, I would stick it to him…..,,,,,,
Nice try Jim, but the way you write gives it all away….,,,,,
