Matt Birk was a coup for the Ravens when they signed him last offseason. He was a perfect fit into a young offensive line that lost Jason Brown to the St. Louis Rams. The six-time Pro Bowler is in the second year of a three-year contract with the Ravens, but has started slowly this camp, beginning on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list because of minor elbow surgery.

2010 Outlook: At this point in his career, Birk isn’t going to change. He is still a strong player that will continue to help develop the offensive line. It wouldn’t be a surprise if Birk is at a Pro Bowl level this season. Expect he and Joe Flacco to have outstanding chemistry during the regular season. Lastly, Birk knows Cam Cameron’s offense a little better so he will be able to make better calls for blocking defenders on a blitz.
