High School shortstop Adrian Marin was selected by the Orioles in the third-round of the 2012 MLB Draft and he wasted no time signing his contract.
Marin tweeted a picture of himself in an Orioles hat and jersey with pen in hand on Thursday night. He broke the news to the local media that he’s officially signed.
A Miami native, Marin is a 5′ 10″, 160 pund infielder out of Gulliver Prep School. He had previously committed to the University of Miami before signing with Baltimore.
He was selected 99th overall and according to Baseball America, the allotted slot for that pick under the new collective bargaining agreement is $481,100.
The Orioles will likely announce the deal after they conduct a physical on Monday.
480 some odd thousand dollars ain’t too shabby for a kid coming out of high school.
Why is the guy from “Friends” sitting next to Adrian Marin?!?
This kid looks like BWag, I hope he is a better player…
