Ray Lewis’ final dance rubbed Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne the wrong way. “I saw it as disrespectful,” Wayne told a radio station in Indianapolis after his team fell 24-9 to the Baltimore Ravens.
On Tuesday, Lewis was asked about Wayne’s comments and he refused to apologize to his fellow former Miami Hurricane. “It wasn’t about them at that time,” Lewis told the media. “That was about capping off a heck of a legacy of 17 years. When he (Wayne) was in Pop Warner playing football, I was in Baltimore. To salute my city that way, I guess the trot around the field was disrespectful, too. No. It wasn’t even about them.”
It’s idiotic to think that Lewis was trying to show up Wayne or his Colts’ teammates.
Lewis went on to say that his final dance was a salute to Baltimore, “knowing that people love to see that”.
