With a 4-0 victory over the Boston Red Sox on Monday night, the Baltimore Orioles magic number fell to 11. The AL East crown is closely within reach and the fans in Baltimore are keeping a watchful eye on the action around the league to see when the Birds might clinch.
After fanning three over 1.1 innings pitched last night, Orioles reliever Tommy Hunter was asked how closely he’s scoreboard watching every night.
Hunter: "I asked if New York won tonight, and they didn’t even play, so that tells you how much we play attention to that kind of stuff."
